Second movie night was a success

To the Editor:

The Putnam County Youth Development Commission along with the sponsors and volunteers would like to thank everyone who attended the second annual Family Movie Night at the park on Saturday, September 18th.

The evening proved once again to be a huge success with approximately 1,000 community members in attendance.

The weather was perfect for families to bring lawn chairs and blankets and to enjoy hot dogs, popcorn and drinks donated by Putnam County National Night Out, Greencastle Parks and Recreation, and Greencastle McDonald's.

Thank you to John Hecko and Amber Bowers for the use of their grill. We heard nothing but positive remarks about the movie selection of "Marmaduke."

A free will offering was accepted which raised almost $400 to support our annual purchase of school supplies for Putnam County's children.

We also want to thank our local Banner Graphic for their donation of advertising.

As we all know it would be impossible to be successful without the efforts of our committee and the wonderful volunteers who give tirelessly of their time.

A big, big thank you to the following: John and Patty Clements, Shelly Markham, Troy and Debbie Scott, Bobby Hopper, Patti Harmless, Bill Merkel, Renee Marsteller, and Samantha and Josh Richardson.

We genuinely appreciated Putnam County Comprehensive Services and the Putnam County Sheriff's department for ensuring the park was clean of trash and litter.

Thank you again Putnam County.
