Anna L. Nicholls

Anna L. Nicholls, 81, Poland, died following an automobile accident on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.

She was born Nov. 19, 1928 in Owen County, the daughter of Lafe and Elsie Smith Schopmeyer. Following graduation from high school, she continued on at "Smart Appearance" Beauty School.

On Oct. 17, 1948, Anna married John E. Nicholls. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1973. Together Anna and John owned and operated the "Snack Bar" restaurant in Poland for 26 years.

Anna was a longtime member of the Big Walnut Baptist Church in Reelsville.

Survivors include her cousins and extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at French Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Poland Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
