Drumming up roadside smiles

Driving between Roachdale and Bainbridge on North County Road 225 East, a large bear made of hay bales comes along the horizon.
Dean and Lisa Miller and their neighbor Tony Asher made the bear, which was assembled across from Dean Miller's business, D and L Automotive.
Asher first had the idea after seeing a similar bear on a westward trip.
"[Asher] thought it was pretty cute," Dean Miller said. "He wanted to know if he got the hay bales, if I would paint it. It was just a whim. It took about three hours to get it totally done."
Miller said the bear would get more festive during holiday seasons.
"I'm looking for a black sheet so I can kind of decorate him for Halloween," Miller said.
