First Christian Church celebrates accessibility

Saturday, October 23, 2010

GREENCASTLE -- First Christian Church is celebrating its new accessibility on Sunday with the dedication of a new elevator. The "enclosed lift" gives access to all three floors of the building from the level of the parking lot. The sanctuary and the fellowship hall are now available without using stairways.

The Church will also celebrate its heritage as part of the Stone-Campbell Restoration movement. This movement began on the American frontier in the early 1800s with an emphasis on open, weekly communion coupled with personal freedom and responsibility in understanding the Bible.

The celebration will conclude with a pitch-in dinner after worship.

Former members and first-time attendees are especially welcome at this celebration.

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is located at 110 S. Indiana St. in Greencastle, across from the Greencastle Fire Station. Call 653-3146 or e-mail fccdoc@cinergymetro.net for more information.
