James Henry "Pop" Perry, 82, of Waveland died at his home on Monday, Nov.15, 2010 at 12:40 a.m. with his wife and family around him.

Pop was a farmer most of his life. He worked as an Omar Man for 1½ years, and worked for Ed McGaughey on the farm for 20 years.

For 10 years he was co-owner of Russellville Feed & Grain.

From 1991 to 2008 he worked as a security guard at Wal-Mart, where he retired in 2008.

Pop's favorite hobbies were gardening, being on the farm, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren and great- grandchildren play ball.

He was a member of Russellville Community Church and a graduate of Russellville High School class of 1946.

He was born July 23, 1928 to Lou and Nannie Jane Perkins Perry.

On March 20, 1949 he married Marjorie L. Detro, who survives along with three children, Yvonne Perry Simpson and husband Mike of Waveland, Douglas Perry and Wife Nettie of Hawaii, Teresa Perry Peacock and husband Mike of Russellville, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three brothers and four sisters, along with a grandson and a great-grandson.

Funeral Services are planned for Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Russellville Community Church. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

The Revs. James and Kathy Elliott will officiate.

Burial will be at Russellville Cemetery.
