Barker back as Town Council member

BAINBRIDGE -- The Bainbridge Town Council voted unanimously at a special meeting to reinstate Naomi Barker as the body's third member.

"She was duly elected by citizens. That's how they spoke three years ago so we have no problem having her complete the bounds of her term," board president Richard Cope said.

Barker submitted a letter stating her resignation from her post effective Oct. 31. Until then she had been in office since December 2007.

"I'm looking forward to representing the town of Bainbridge for the remainder of my term," Barker said.

  • Wow, Resign then go back. Bainbridge needs new board members and that is apparent. I have lived in this town for 5 years and do not recall a time yet during an election that I have got to vote for a board member or for the clerk-treasurer, seems like they just appoint themselves. I may be wrong. But given the number of people that complain about the board and the other political figures you would think they would vote them out.
