John Albert Grimes

John Albert Grimes, 92, Crawfordsville, formerly of Russellville, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born April 1, 1918 to Eugene and Lula Hester Grimes in Russellville.

He married Lillous Ellen McGaughey on Oct. 25, 1939 in Russellville, and she survives.

He graduated from Russellville High School in 1936. He was a member of Russellville Community Church, Waveland Masonic Lodge F&AM 300.

He was a farmer and salesman in the Russellville Community.

Other survivors include sons Larry (Carol) Grimes of West Virginia and Melvin (Patty) Grimes of Russellville; a daughter, Madonna Watson of New Market; a sister Beulah Allgood of Russellville; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, brothers Randall and David Grimes and sisters Frieda Wiatt and Katherine Kelly.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Russellville Community Church with calling from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Kathy Elliott will officiate, with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland is in charge of services.
