GREENCASTLE -- Last Wednesday, the Danville Warriors brought their unbeaten record of 4-0 on the season to Greencastle to try and end the Tiger Cubs' own unblemished mark of 5-0. GMS suffered its first loss 63-18 on the night.

The taller and more athletic Warriors dominated the Tiger Cubs from start to finish. The Warriors controlled the backboards the entire night and their pressing defense limited the Tiger Cubs to 8-of-37 shooting from the field.

Ryan Coble led the Cubs in scoring with nine points, but sorely missed Brandon Gierke's offensive help, who missed most of the game with the stomach flu.

The B-team pulled out an exciting double overtime victory to keep its unbeaten record intact at 3-0 on the season. Things didn't start out well for the Tiger Cubs as they fell behind early by the count of 11-2.

Greencastle began clawing its way back into the game and had drawn even midway through the fourth quarter, but the Warriors used their quickness to draw fouls and hit free throws and held a three-point advantage with less than a minute to play in regulation.

Greencastle coach Mark Lewis called time out to draw up a play to get a shot from behind the 3 point arc. The play went according to plan and Anthony Rossok was fouled as he released the shot. Rossok went to the line and calmly sank all three free throws to send the game into overtime.

Both teams were ice cold in the first overtime, but in the second, Brayden White had a field goal and Chase Chew sank two free throws to seal the 30-27 victory.

The Cubs were led in scoring by Rossok and Jacob Sanders with eight points each and Peyton Walker who had a season-high 21 rebounds.
