Bud Holton

Bud Holton, 76 of Greencastle passed away Friday, Dec.10, 2010 at the St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

Bud was born in Vermillion County, the son of Roy and Florence (Noggle) Holton. He was a graduate of Roachdale High School, class of 1953.

Bud married Audra Lou Dorsett Holton on March 19, 1966 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rande B.; Parents; a brother, Tom was killed in the service; sisters, Betty Perkins, Jean Ronk, and Edna Ruth Holton; a daughter-in-law, Carol; son-in-law, Tom Williams; and brothers-in-laws, J.D. Perkins and Raymond Dickerson.

He is survived by his wife, Audra; a daughter, Sue Williams of Willisburg, Ky.; sons, Mike Carrico, Pat (Debbie) Carrico, and Tom (Kathryn) Holton, all of Greencastle; a sister, Mary Dickerson of Roachdale; a brother-in-law, Lester Ronk of Roachdale; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Rande's special friend, Carol Richardson.

Bud's greatest love was farming and trying new ideas. He had served on the Putnam County Fair board, was a member of the Putnam County Farm Bureau, Putnam County Pork Producers & Beef Association; Indiana Pork Producers, Indiana & National Beef Cattleman; Crossroads Pygmy Goat Club and the National Pygmy Goat Club.

He was one of the first members of I.B.M. to be sent to Endicott for training in 1953.

Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service, as Bud had requested cremation.
