David G. Starr

David G. Starr, of Greencastle and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday morning at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was 65.

Mr. Starr was a member of the Moose Lodge, where he served as Past President, Past Governor, Past District Officer and Past District President. He was also a member of the Montgomery County Shrine Club, New Richmond Lodge #604, the Eagles, American Legion Post 72 and S.A.L. He was part owner and manager of CPC Music, later worked for Raybestos and held a variety of sales positions in the community. He served in the Navy reserves as a communications technician from 1966-1972.

Born September 21, 1945 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Gerald W. and Martha L. Starr. He graduated from Belle Union High School class of 1964 and attended Indiana State University.

Survivors include daughter Cheryl L. (Joe) Sizemore of Camby, granddaughter, Cheyenne of Camby, mother, Martha of Greencastle, brother, John Starr of Cloverdale, sister, Sandra J. (Gary) Frank of Saylor Springs, Ill., four nieces, several nephews and various cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandson Matthew Sizemore in 2005 and his father Gerald W. Starr in September 2007.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with rites by the Moose Lodge. Burial will be at Round Hill Cemetery, 45 W. Dudley Ave., Indianapolis, at 2 p.m. Friday.
