Three to hospital after car accident

Monday, December 27, 2010
A red 1993 Honda driven by Kerrie Elam struck a gold colored 2007 Chevy Malibu driven by Joseph Van Zant with Joshua Kelvin Ellson Aquino on Thursday afternoon. The call for the accident occurred 1:07 p.m. "The red car was south bound on Spring St. and the gold car was west bound on Washington. The red car failed to stop, hit the gold car and spun it around," said Greencastle Police Department officer Ed Wilson. Wilson said that Elam went to the hospital complaining of knee pain and bleeding. Van Zant and Aquino both complained of back pain and went to the hospital. "The airbags deployed, but I don't think it was anything serious," Wilson said. The Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Greencastle Police Department, DePauw Campus Patrol and Operation Life responded to the call.
