Rowena M. Whitaker

Rowena M. Whitaker, 62, Greencastle, passed away on Dec. 27, 2010 at the Putnam County Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1948 in Greencastle and was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Maxine [O'Connor] Highsmith.

She was a member of the Cloverdale Church of the Nazarene and had been employed as a nurse's aide. She is survived by her children, Lisa Hunsicker and husband John, Spencer and Eric Whicker, Spencer, her sister Bernnetta Williams and husband David, Greencastle and her brother Charles LeRoy Highsmith and wife Rita, Mooresville and five Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Josh.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Cloverdale Cemetery with Rev. Ross Kirkman and Rev. Bill Pursell officiating.
