Former town manager gets 2 years for theft

ROCKVILLE, (AP) -- A former western Indiana town manager has been sentenced to two years in prison and must repay $43,200 after pleading guilty to one count of theft.

Fifty-four-year-old Neel Goheen of New Carlisle was arrested in 2010 after Indiana State Police investigated allegations that Goheen billed the town of Rockville through a company he owned for engineering services and equipment for improvements at the town's wastewater treatment plant. The Tribune-Star of Terre Haute reports that the work was never performed.

Rockville employed Goheen as its town manager for 13 1/2 months ending in December 2009.

A Parke County judge handed down the sentence Thursday.
