Theater at Putnam Museum is a show and chance to act

GREENCASTLE---- The Putnam County Museum and the newly formed West Indiana Theater Troupe (WITT) will be having an interactive theater performance on Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m at the museum.

Greencastle High School students will perform skits that address pressing social issues in our community, inviting you to participate and possibly change the outcome of each act. An engaging discussion will follow each skit.

Moreover, Jan. 22 will be a kick off day for WITT's series of service theater performances. Everyone is encouraged to join the troupe and create new skits and perform in the series that will follow this spring.

"Led by a talented and enthusiastic communication and theater professor at DePauw University, Tim Good, the troupe gives people in our community a unique chance to gain insight and discuss issues that have plagued various social groups: teenagers, parents, elderly, etc.," says Tanis Monday, the museum director. "Instead of complaining and feeling discouraged, we are making an effort to improve the lives of people in our community in a welcoming and fun way. Even if people join us only as spectators, this is still a great opportunity to raise awareness and develop a new perspective on old issues."
