Aurel C. Willer, 95, a former resident of Pine Village, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at the Franklin United Methodist Home in Franklin.

Aurel was born on Sept. 12, 1915 in Pine Village to James D. and Rose A. (High) Hooker. She graduated from Pine Village High School and Saint Margaret's School of Nursing in Hammond. She married R.G. "Bud" Willer on Nov. 19, 1938. She was a member of the Pine Village Christian Church, Adam's Township Home Economics Club, Pine Village Literary Club and Tri Kappa.

Survivors include a son, Ted Willer (Kathy) of Greencastle; two daughters, Karla Schmidt (Tom) of Wabash and Marla Bryant (Don) of Trafalgar; a brother, Ray Hooker of Virginia; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Randall G. Willer; a daughter, Kathleen Willer; a sister, Louise Slavens; and a brother, Merle Hooker.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the Pine Village Christian Church. Pastor Mark Miller will be officiating and burial will be at Pine Village Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willer-Hooker Park Fund through the Covington Community Foundation.
