Oscar Kenneth Miller, 83, of Fillmore passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at his residence at Autumn Glen.

Born Dec. 26, 1927 in Fillmore, he was the son of Otha James and Lola (Arnold) Miller and had attended Fillmore schools. He married Verna May (Bruner) Miller on Dec. 27, 1944 and she preceded him in death on April 24, 1994.

Oscar had been a farmer and a machinist at International Harvester, Indianapolis, for 30 years, retiring June 30, 1977. He had then worked at the Wal-Mart Store in Greencastle for five years.

He was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church for over 50 years; a lifetime member of the Fillmore and Greencastle Masonic Lodges having served as past Worthy Master and U.A.W.

Survivors include his children, Howard D. Miller of Plainfield, Brenda A. (Rolland) Vickrey of Plainfield, Jack G. (Cyndi) Miller of Avon, Donna J. (Michael) Harcourt of Fillmore and Janet E. (Steven) Cofer of Greencastle; two sisters, Jean (Cliff) Hanlon of Florida and Wanda (James)Mason of Fillmore; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Marion, Maynard and Ivan Miller; three sisters, Mildred Vincent, Margaret Huber and Lela Brown; and a grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Faust officiating. Burial will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, with a Masonic Lodge Service to be held at 7 p.m.
