County back to level two emergency
GREENCASTLE -- Putnam County has returned to a level 2 travel emergency.
Level 2 means conditions threaten public safety. Only essential traffic is recommended, such as to and from work and for emergency situations. Businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations should implement their emergency action plans to determine if travel is required.
With crews continuing to work on power restoration and city streets driveable, the county commissioners plan to reopen the Putnam County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex on Thursday.
Greencastle City Hall will also reopen Thursday.
Hyten said one of the major problems still facing the county is in clearing roads. Although crews have been applying salt to major county roads, the temperature will need to rise before it really begins to melt.
