Old man winter still causing problems for county sports

GREENCASTLE -- The winter weather continues to change the Putnam County sports landscape.

The girls sectional swimming finals will run as scheduled today, with diving beginning at 9 a.m. and swim finals to begin at 1 p.m.

The South Putnam girls basketball game against North Putnam will take place today, with junior varsity tipping at 2 p.m.

The South Putnam boys basketball game against North Putnam will now take place Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.

The North Putnam boys basketball game against South Vermillion will run as scheduled, with the junior varsity tipping off at 6 p.m.

The Greencastle boys' basketball game at Brown County slated for today has been canceled.

The Cloverdale boys basketball game against Turkey Run Saturday has been canceled.

The freshman boys basketball Putnam County tournament has been canceled.

The weather will not disrupt the IHSAA boys wrestling Mooresville Regional, which begins at 9 a.m. today

In middle school action, the South Putnam seventh and eighth grade girls basketball games against North Clay have been postponed to Monday at 6 p.m.

The Greencastle Middle School sixth grade girls basketball team's game against Cloverdale has been canceled.
