South Putnam, Cloverdale wrestlers battle on the mat

The South Putnam Junior High wrestling squad edged out Cloverdale 52-51 Tuesday.

Winning for the Eagles were Jacob Lorimer, Dakota Cutshaw, Collin Berry, Andrew Ballard, Zane Crosby, Dakota Bunton, Clayton Spener, Nathan Sheets and Joey Masters.

The Clovers had nine winners on the night. They were Jacob Boldman, Nick Bennett, Brandon Hughes, Max Secrest, Colton Wilkes, Ethan Boyd, Shadrack Heagy, Bill Petrosky and Skyler Mann.

The teams split in reserve matches. Winning for South Putnam was Brandon Daniels, Dylan Watson and R.J. Speedy, while Bennett, Petrosky and Mann picked up wins for Cloverdale.

Last Thursday Cloverdale fell to Owen Valley 54-48. Winning for the Clovers was Boldman, Secrest, Jake Waycott, Ethan Radford, Heagy, Petrosky, Clayton Byrd and Mann.
