Richard A. "Dick" Duncan, 68, of Greencastle passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011. He was born on July 4, 1942 in Putnam County to Asa E. Duncan and Bonita Ruth Swartz Duncan.

He attended Bainbridge schools, and was active in their alumni association. Dick graduated from Greencastle High School. He was a member of Fillmore Christian Church and was previously active in O.S.E., Masons and Shrine.

Dick enjoyed being outdoors including hunting, camping, gardening, canoeing and cutting grass on his Dixie Chopper; and playing games including chess, poker and Wii. He was known for his handyman skills.

A loving grandfather and caretaker, Dick enjoyed all family events, especially with the grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Richard Ray Duncan; and his first wife, C. Avonne Kitchen Duncan.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Sue K. Duncan; children, Daniel A. Duncan and wife, Denise of Poland, Melissa S. Hudson of Indianapolis, Kelli A. Aynes and husband, Mike of Bainbridge, and Richard Darin Duncan and wife, Robyn of Indianapolis; a brother, David L. Duncan and wife, Judee of Mississippi; a sister, Alberta Alexander of Nevada; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Hopper officiating. Inurnment will be in Fillmore Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
