William Frank Killion

William Frank Killion, 86, of Reelsville passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. He was born on July 26, 1924 in Brazil to Joseph Frank Killion and Tressie Maxine Ogle Killion.

He was a graduate of Brazil High School class of 1941 and attended Bowling Green College.

Mr. Killion served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. He was one of the youngest P51 Pilots on Iwo Jima, flying eleven missions over Japan.

Bill was a member of Big Walnut Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 58, and retired from Killion Building & Supply after 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lawson Killion; six children, Nancy McCullough and husband Jack of Brazil, Sally Paris and husband Michael of Valley View, Tex., Laura McCullough and husband Dan of Dallas, Beth Flint and husband Jeff of Greencastle, Tom Killion and wife Carla of Indianapolis and Rod Killion of Indianapolis; a sister, Mary Jo McBeth and husband Bill of Brazil; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Jackie Demaree and husband David, and Kathy Maughm and husband Tony.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Goss and Pastor Brent Meyer officiating. Interment with honors will follow at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials in Bill's name may be made to Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center Endowment Fund, c/o Putnam County Community Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
