Emergency personnel responded to a wreck just west of Union Chapel Thursday afternoon. Jessie Parker, 88, Greencastle, was westbound on U.S. 36 when her 2007 Chrysler left the road. It traveled down an embankment, through brush and two fences, coming to rest on its top next to a tree.

Responders to the scene included the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, an Indiana Conservation Officer, Bainbridge Fire Department, Clinton Township Fire Department, PMH Ambulance, Operation Life and Kenny's Wrecker.

  • Sensationalize tragedy, and then not even include a single word to indicate her condition after the accident. I hope thats not where your head really is (nor do I think it is).

It is just a bit of a cliff hanger to see images of a horrific accident and then not have a single bit mentioned about the driver of the vehicle.

  • Does anyone know the condition of the person in the wreck, My prayers are out to her and the family... God Bless

  • She was wearing her seatbelt and is currently in Trams ICU in stable condition. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and ask that you continue to pray.

  • Really???? Someone was injured in an auto accident and you title it "A Wild Ride?" Hope she will be allright. Thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

  • I am TOTALLY disgusted by the title of this article. Someone was critically injured and lifelined from this accident and you title it "A Wild Ride?" REALLY?????? How incredibly rude, distasteful, and such a lack of compassion for this person and their family!!! I think an apology and retraction is definitely in order! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are reading more into the headline than necessary. From the looks of the car, it must have been a 'terrifying wild ride'. Is that better?

-- Posted by BGreader on Fri, Mar 4, 2011, at 9:19 AM
  • No, it is NOT better. The family is very upset by this title and it is in VERY poor taste. Put yourselves in their shoes...what if this was your mother or grandmother???? I think you probably would feel differently about the title.....

  • omg quit nitpicking everything people! (I bet the driver told the rescuers that it was a 'wild ride' maybe that is where they got the title from)

We need more love not more hate.

  • I think the title is the least of the worries for the family right now. Oh my gosh people, get over it.

  • Thank you, Banner, for changing the title and hope you consider removing the photos.

The driver is in CRITICAL condition and was lifelined from this accident. Thus, the reason that this title and the pictures are upsetting to the family. Please show some compassion for them and stop making insensitive comments....

  • Kinda strange everybody is griping about this article. They run wreck articles with pictures all of the time and nobody says anything then. Shoot, if they hadn't ran an article with pictures you people would complain about that too!

  • These same people complain about stuff in this paper EVERY single day...why? Because they have nothing better to do!!!! GET A LIFE!!!!!
