Malcolm E. Wade, 90, Avon; formerly of Fillmore, passed away on

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Manor Care Prestwick at Avon. He was born on August 22, 1920 in Fillmore and was the son of the late Murt E. and Lela (Burk) Wade.

He was married to Beatrice K. (Deweese) Wade on July 27, 1940 and she survives.

He was a retired postmaster from the Fillmore Post Office, member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church, Temple Lodge no. 47, F. & A. M., Greencastle and a 50 year member of F. & A. M. no. 155 at Fillmore, O. E. S. no. 255, Greencastle and a 50 year member of O. E. S. no. 186 at Fillmore and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Plainfield. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WW II.

In addition to his wife, Beatrice he is survived by his daughters, Darla Kay Rhind and husband David, Leland, N.C. and Sue Kay St. John and husband Danny, Avon; grandchildren, Deanna K. Marek and husband Dave, Brent E. St. John and wife Casey, Brad E. St. John and wife Tommie and Douglas Kay Thomas; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fillmore Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at: cds@whitakerfuneralhome.net.
