South Putnam, Clovers battle on the track

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Middle School girls' track team battled South Putnam Tuesday, with the Clovers winning 69-40.

Bailee Stevens broke the CMS 2,400-meter record with a time of 9:07.61. Also winning for the Clovers was Riley Canfield in the 1,600-meter run (6:42), Anna Spencher 200-meter dash (31.3), Sydney Gutierrez in the shot put (23-1), Laura Worthington in the discus (59-5), Alexis Branneman in the high jump (4-2) and Harley Fuetter in the long jump (12-2).

The 1,600-meter relay team (4:51.8) and the 400-meter relay team (1:00.64) also won.

Winning for the Eagles was Ariel Higgins in the 100-meter dash (14.92), Angel Nield in the 400-meter dash (1:09.85) and Madie Egold in the 800-meter run (2:57.83).
