North Putnam wins pair over Eagles Wednesday

The North Putnam junior varsity team defeated South Putnam 18-2 in game one and 21-5 in game two Wednesday.

Coy Flynn got the win in game one, recording 11 strikeouts in five innings of work. He was also 2-for-3 at the plate for the Cougars Thursday.

Jordan Nauert was 2-for-3, Jeron Berry was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Shane Beaman was 3-for-3 and Joey Nelson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

In game two, Nauert pitched three innings, striking out four, with Johnson pitching two innings with three strikeouts.

Berry and Nauert had two RBIs, while Kagan Johnson was 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Benneet Hazelgrove was 2-for 4 and Tyler Spencer was 2-for-3.

North Putnam will play at Western Boone Saturday at 10 a.m.
