Tiger Cubs split with Tuttle

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle Middle School track team split with Tuttle Thursday. The boys' won 93-16, while the girls' fell 56.5-52.5.

The boys' squad recorded 12 wins en route to the win. Nathan Grzesiek won the 200-meter dash and the long jump, while Anthony Mithcell won the high jump. Elijah Brattain won the 2,400-meter run and the 400-meter dash.

Adam Gerard won the shot put, with Anthony Mitchell winning the 100-meter dash. Taylor Secrest won the 1,600-meter run and the 800-meter run, while Sedrick Weinschenk won the 200-meter hurdles.

Greencastle also won both the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays.

For the girls, Callan Taylor won the high jump, with Sydney Stuckwisch winning the shot put and Corrie Romer winning the 2,400-meter run.

Head coach Stacie Stoffregen noted the Tiger Cubs recorded several personal bests. Taylor, Stuckwisch, Romer and Sydney Smiley all recorded personal bests.

The discus event was called off due to standing water in the pit. Stoffregen said her throwers were disappointed they weren't able to throw.
