CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale boys' golf team defeated county rival North Putnam Wednesday 189-200.

Chris Arnold led Cloverdale with a medalist-earning round of 40, with Gary Williams adding a 45. Aaron Whitlock shot a 50, Sam Jordan a 54 and Zach Hall a 55. Colte Tomlinson shot a 61 for CHS.

For the Cougars, Colton Smith shot a 45 to pace the squad, while Lance Clodfelter shot a 47 and John Willard a 50. Quade Snyder, Jake Smith and Mason Asher each shot 58.

Cloverdale head coach Doug Wokoun said his team is still trying to adjust with the ever-changing weather they've had to deal with over the past few weeks.

"Chris scrambled his way to a pretty good round," he said. "He has been fighting through a little slump and made some progress. Gary struggled on several holes and is trying to find the consistency he had at Brownsburg last Saturday. Aaron Whitlock is continuing to get his game together and is doing some good things for us.

"We have played in so many variable weather conditions over the last week that we have had some trouble making adjustments. Every day seems to present some new challenge that we are not reacting to in the way we should. I have to find a way to help our guys get things back on track," Wokoun added.
