Two SPHS seniors receive scholarships, teacher earns grant for new class

Two South Putnam High School students and a SPHS teacher who were rewarded with scholarships and a teacher grant in a ceremony last Friday evening.

Senior Jessica York was awarded the South Putnam Community Education Foundation Scholarship. She will use the scholarship as she attends Valparaiso University this fall to work toward a degree in the meteorological field.

Seth Arnold was awarded the Wildman Leadership Scholarship, named in honor of longtime former SPHS football coach and counselor Mark Wildman. Arnold will use the scholarship at the University of Kentucky as he works toward a degree in biosystems engineering starting in January.

Meanwhile, Renatta Hendrickson was awarded a teacher grant from the South Putnam Community Education Foundation. She is planning on using the grant to help get new cameras and supplies for a new Media Arts class she will be teaching next year.

  • Seth will be starting University of Kentucky in June, the error was not the Banner's fault but Seth's mother, who sent the information in! Sorry!!!
