To the Editor:

On the weekend of April 30th and May 1st, Putnam County, Greencastle, and DePauw University came together at Blackstock Stadium on DePauw's campus for Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society. As a result of these efforts, our communities have already combined to raise more than one hundred and thirty thousand dollars to fight cancer this year.

The continued success of our event would not be possible without the support of our more than one thousand registered participants, thousands of attendees, and countless people and sponsors who give of their time, talents and funds for the cause.

I would like to acknowledge the generosity of Sodexo, DePauw University, the Banner Graphic, Alpha Chi Omega, Beta Theta Pi, Buzzi Unicem, Coca Cola, WGRE, WREB, DePauw Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, Heartland Automotive, Wal-Mart Distribution and Transportation, Wal-Mart, Endeavor Communications, Duke Energy, Alpha Phi, Dixie Chopper, The Fluttering Duck, The Inn at DePauw, HBG Insurance and Bonds, Phi Delta Theta, Pizza King, Culligan Water, Putnam Inn Restaurant, Republic Refusee, Rolls Royce of the "What If's," Hayes, Murphy, Sharp & Brackney Insurance Services Inc., and Wetnight RV for their sponsorship of this year's event.

I would also like to thank to Alpha Tau Omega, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chief's Southwest Restaurant, DePauw Capella, DePauw Gospel Choir, Dominos Pizza, Girl Scouts of Northern Putnam County, Greencastle Rotary Club, Hometown Dental, Humble Pie, Marvin's, Mike Rokicki Community vs. Cancer Challenge, Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray, DePauw President Brian Casey, Old National Bank, Papa John's, S & G Excavating, Sigma Nu, Showtyme Sound, Shuee and Sons, Subway, Terese Cunningham State Farm Insurance, Texas Roadhouse, the DePauw University Business Office, Facilities Management, Media Services, Printing Services, Public Safety and Student Government for their support.

A special thanks goes out to all of our organizing committee members, our ACS Staff Partner Rachel Romas, and my two incredible Co-Chairs Dick Shuck and Roddrea Smith (DePauw '11). It has been a tremendous honor to serve as a Co-Chair this year. Thanks for your continued support in the fight against cancer!
