Wilma M. Holt, 81, Brazil, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. at Union Hospital. She was born March 16, 1930 in Clay County the daughter of John Bemis and Ollie Lanham Bemis. In 1945, she married William Donald Holt. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1990.

Wilma worked as a cook for the Greencastle School Corporation at Greencastle High School. After retiring, she worked as a house mother for a sorority on DePauw University's campus.

She attended the Clinton Community Church in the past. She enjoyed crocheting many different items for family and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; mother and father-in-law Lucy and William Holy; three sisters, Bertha Buffington, Katie Head and Donna Sutherland; one brother, Bobby Bemis; infant granddaughter, Lucy; two nephews, Steve Kirk and John Bemis and two great-nieces, Toni Kirk and Melanie Bemis.

Survivors include her son, Donald Ed Holt and wife Judy of Brazil; two daughters, Betty Smith and husband Arnold of Cloverdale and Nancy Bellew and husband Robert of Florida; seven grandchildren, Michael Holt (Julie), Michelle Hernandez (Bobby), Tommy Smith, Wendy Stout, Kathy Smith, Ricky Smith and Steven White; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Opal Grigsby, Margaret Jenkins and Phyllis Edwards (Robert) all of Brazil and Agnes Kirk of Hobart; two brothers Jack Bemis (Mary) of Brazil and Otie Bemis (Linda) of Carbon; special niece Terrie Woolery (Willie) of Brazil; many other nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at French Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
