Jerry L. Montgomery

Mr. Jerry L. Montgomery, 69, of Bicknell, formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011.

Born June 30, 1941 in West Terre Haute, he was the son of Lloyd L. and Opha Waneda (Chesshir) Montgomery and was a graduate of West Terre Haute Concannon High School class of 1959. He married Sandra A. (Young) Montgomery on July 7, 1962 and she survives.

Jerry had retired from Duke Energy (formerly PSI) after 35 years of service. He was a veteran having served ten years in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; children, Jason T. (Crystal) Montgomery of Coatesville, Lisa J. (Doug) Caley of Wabash, and Lori L. Montgomery of Wabash; a brother, Rick (Pat) Montgomery of Kentucky; sisters, Alberta Price and Ellen Leigh of West Terre Haute, Beverly Trench of Farmersburg, and Rose (Bob) Elkins of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Sarah Stroup, Rachel (Jason) Clark, Spec. Adam (Justine) Kiefaber, and Ryan Kiefaber; two great grandchildren, Kamden Kiefaber and Liam Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Montgomery; and two sisters, Betty Lou Montgomery and Olive Walters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating, burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
