Youth team tennis program set for Greencastle this summer

This summer local youngsters can have fun playing Midwest Youth Team Tennis in Greencastle.

The 10 and Under Tennis program, using the QuickStart Tennis play format, features kid-sized equipment, court dimensions and scoring. Kids develop tennis skills right away, and enjoy playing and competing in a fun, team environment.

The Greencastle program will be offered for youth starting June 20. Deadline to register is June 3.

Registration is available at www.midwestteamtennis.com along with more information about the league, including scheduling details. Volunteers and coaches are always welcome.

This Midwest Youth Team Tennis program is open to girls and boys ages 5-10 years of age. Beginning, intermediate and advanced players are all welcome to participate. The program participant package includes the following: new tennis racquet (21- or 23-inch for 8-and-under, 25-inch for 10-and-under), Ace's Kids Club fun pack, team uniform and age appropriate tennis ball.

"The USTA /Midwest Section is excited to work with Greencastle to establish the Midwest Youth Team Tennis program," USTA/Midwest Section Manager of Junior Leagues Chad Docktor said. "The program will introduce more youth to the lifetime sport of tennis, and the local organization will play a vital role in its success."
