City Police

Two recent arrests were made by Greencastle City Police officers.

Capt. Mike Hanlon was called to Superior Court in the Putnam County Courthouse at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday on the report of an intoxicated person in the courtroom.

Arrested was Kevin K. Huber, 45, Greenwood, who was appearing in court on a May 29 arrest for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Huber, who registered .22 percent blood-alcohol content under testing Wednesday, was charged with public intoxication and was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

At 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Anthony Brown II, 19, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten in the Putnam Plaza parking lot off Indianapolis Road.

Brown was arrested on a charge of invasion of privacy relative to a protective order on file with authorities.

Two recent property-damage accidents were investigated by GPD.

At 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, a one-vehicle mishap was reported at Shadowlawn and Hillsdale avenues. Holly Smith was eastbound, driving a 1998 Dodge Ram when the vehicle struck low-hanging utility lines owned by Comcast and Verizon.

Officer Bunten listed damage at $750-$1,000 to the truck's windshield, front end and mirror.

At 10:01 p.m. May 23, a one-vehicle accident occur-red at Houck Road and North Arlington Street as Nicole Allen, 18, Greencastle, was stopped, attempting to turn east onto Arlington Street. She said the tires on the 2007 Dodge Nitro she was driving spun, causing the SUV to leave the roadway on the north side where it hit a phone box and utility pole.

Allen complained of head and back pain, while a passenger, Rene Hamblin, 23, Greencastle, had pelvic and abdominal pain. Both were taken to Putnam County Hospital via Operation Life ambulance.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000 by investigating Officer Nick Eastham.

Four recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

At 11 p.m. May 28, William O'Neill, 22, Crawfordsville, was cited on Indianapolis Road by Capt. Charles Inman for driving with a suspended license.

At 10 p.m. May 28, Chad Keyt, 17, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Matt Huffman for 43 mph in a 30-mph zone on Shadowlawn Avenue.

At 3:24 p.m. May 27, Christy Reutemann, 34, Greencastle, was ticketed by Reserve Officer David Clodfelter for 44 mph in a 30-mph one on Jackson Street.

At 9:17 p.m. May 26, Renee Capps, 28, Greencastle, was cited at Hammond and Garden-side drives by Officer Bunten for operating a vehicle without insurance.

Sheriff's Department

* May 25, 11:04 p.m.: Bradley T. Lovett, 31, Terre Haute, was westbound on CR 1025 West in a 1993 Chevrolet pickup. Due to the storm, he missed the turn at CR 650 West and went over an embankment. The truck ended up on its front bumper standing vertically.

Emergency personnel helped Lovett from the vehicle and transported him to the hospital with a lower leg injury.

Damage $5,001-$10,000.

* May 30, 4:40 p.m.: Paul R. Bryson, 38, Coatesville, was southbound on CR 725 East in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. As he approached a corner, he lost control and left the road, hitting several trees an electric fence and going over an embankment.

Upon Deputy Josh Boller's arrival, Bryson fled to his residence. Boller and Deputy Phillip Troyer went to the address and found him in wet blue jeans and very dirty. He also had serious facial injuries.

Asked if he had wrecked his vehicle, Bryson said a buddy wrecked it. The officer told him an ambulance was coming to check him out. Bryson then began to explain how he wrecked the truck and that he had drank several beers during the day.

Bryson was transported to Putnam County Hospital for treatment and was given a blood alcohol test, which indicated a .32 BAC. He was booked into the Putnam County Jail for operating while intoxicated.

Damage $5,001-$10,000.

* May 31, 5:30 a.m.: Martha E. Cox, 62, Rockville, was southboundon U.S. 231 in a 2005 Ford Taurus when she hit a deer.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

June 1, 8:12 a.m.: Structure fire at 2741 S. CR 150 West. Cleared 10 a.m.

June 1, 3:24 p.m.: Medical assist at 1014 Avenue C. Cleared 3:36 p.m.
