Summer programs for children to begin at Putnam County Museum

Friday, June 3, 2011

The Putnam County Museum invites all children grades K-8 to participate in the museum's hands-on art workshops throughout the summer.

The series of six workshops includes polymer clay jewelry making, quilting and rock painting.

Children will get a chance to create art by using the museum's historic artifacts as inspiration, and will learn craft tips and tricks from fun and resourceful instructors.

The first workshop will be conducted June 13.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to pre-register children for any or all sessions. Registration forms are available for pickup at the museum, on the museum's facebook fan page (Putnam County-Museum), or can be requested via email at museum@co.putnam.in.us.

Persons can also register by calling the museum at 653-8419. The cost of each workshop is $5 per child.
