McCloud Nature Park hosts amphibians of Indiana June 11

NORTH SALEM -- McCloud Nature Park will host a day of frogs and toads beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11.

The amphibians of Indiana program will begin at the nature center with an up-close look at the adaptations and life cycles Indiana amphibians, led by the park naturalist. Then it's off to the pond to attempt some catch-and-release amphibian hunting.

Afterward, the family can enjoy hiking the 6.5 miles of nature trails, a wade through Big Walnut Creek or just kick back and enjoy being outdoors.

McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd. Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
