Steve Mason (left), owner of Mason Jewelers, Lydna Dunbar of Treasures On The Square and Bill Shuee of Shuee and Sons get together to talk about their support of the Putnam County Community Foundation. For the past three years, each of the Greencastle businesses has donated items for the Foundation's annual meeting chocolate box raffle.

Three downtown Greencastle businesses are again making a difference to the Putnam County Community Foundation in a unique way.

Treasures On The Square owner Lynda Dunbar is donating 150 boxes of homemade chocolate. Mason Jewelers owner Steve Mason is donating diamond earrings. And, Shuee and Sons owners Bill and Brent Shuee are donating a new flat-screen television.

The chocolate boxes will be offered for sale before and during the Putnam County Community Foundation's annual meeting on Wednesday, June 15.

The boxes of chocolates sell for $10 each or three for $25. Inside one of the boxes will be a certificate for the diamond earrings. Inside another box will be a certificate for the TV. All of the boxes of chocolate will be opened on that evening in a highly anticipated reveal ceremony.

This is the third year that the chocolate box raffle has been a part of the gathering. The Foundation's annual meeting is Wednesday, June 15 at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle. A reception is set for 5 p.m. with dinner and the meeting to follow at 6.

Sponsors are North Salem State Bank, Endeavor Communications and Wabash Capital. The event will also feature harpist Harriet Moore.

"In a short time, I've come to realize how great the merchants and people of Putnam County are," Foundation Community Development Director Dean Gambill said. "We greatly appreciate the generosity of these local businesses to make this an exciting raffle opportunity for everyone lucky enough to buy a chocolate box."

All the money raised from the raffle will benefit the Community Foundation's Administrative Endowment.
