The Gift of Life

Saturday, June 18, 2011
Friday marked the fifth year for the Indiana Fallen Officers Blood Drive. The Baugh family, Lauralee and her sons Jason and Jerrod, head up the program in Putnam County in honor of the late Jim Baugh. The goal of the Indiana Fallen Officers Blood Drive is to have all of the Indiana counties to participate in the event. According to Lauralee, the event has always been a success. Baugh and Janice Starnes, widow of the late Sgt. Dan Starnes, started the event in honor of their husbands and others who have died in the line of duty as police officers. Above, Putnam County Sheriff Steve Fenwick prepares to give blood during Friday's drive.

  • I wish I had known when it was before hand. Somehow I missed hearing the date. I have donated for all of them until now.

  • Steve looks panicked.

Wonder if he suddenly remembered that his son is cruising the county in the Sheriff's Tahoe?
