Tickets for radio show fundraiser go on sale

The Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days (PCAAD) Group announced today tickets for the Second Annual Dixie Chopper Radio Show are now available for purchase.

This year the show is changing its name slightly, to better reflect the true nature of the production, and will be called The Dixie Chopper 20th Century Radio Show.

The producers of the show, Susan Anthony and Duane Skoog, both members of the DePauw University Communication and Theater Department, believe the name change better reflects the program.

The entertainment this year will be old-style radio programming encompassing the 20th century, not just the World War II era, featured in last year's show. The fact that the program will run closer to two hours then just an hour is the other reason for the name change.

The program will again be staged in conjunction with Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days, and will be on Saturday, Sept. 10. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:15. The evening's entertainment will start at 7 p.m.

Entire tables may be purchased. This year there are four different tiers of seating available: B-17 tables at $640 each, P-51 tables at $400, C-47 tables are $240, and BT-13 tables cost $160. The first three levels of seating are full tables only and are very limited.

BT-13 tables are more readily available; individual seats can be purchased at a BT-13 table for $20 each.

Anthony and Skoog promise this year's show will again feature local artists, all volunteering their time and talent. Look for a few surprises during the production as well.
