GCSC releases back-to-school registration information

Registration for all returning students to Greencastle Community Schools will be conducted online beginning July 22

The first day of school for GCSC will be Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Parents will be able to register through the GCSC webpage at www.greencastle.k12.in.us. All state and GCSC forms required for registration are available online.

All returning students will need their Harmony information to register. While the usernames and passwords remain the same as last year, all students will receive an email on July 20 confirming the information.

Any parent who does not receive the email containing their username and password or has questions about online registration should contact GCSC Database Coordinator Carol Call at ccall@greencastle.k12.in.us.

Online registration may be completed from any computer with internet access. Any parent who does not have internet access or would prefer to receive assistance with the process is encouraged to register at the GCSC booth at the Putnam County Fair July 22-30.

New students must register and pay textbook rental fees at their individual buildings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. New cash transfer students must meet with the building principal for admission prior to registration. All new students will need a copy of their birth certificate and immunization records.

Student schedules will be available online beginning July 22. Schedule changes for current GHS students may be made at the high school on Aug. 8 or 9. The guidance office will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Payment for textbooks is expected at the time of registration. Payment may be made online using a credit card or a debit card. In addition, payment for textbook rental may be made at the GCSC booth at the fair with a check. No cash will be accepted at the fair.

Free and reduced lunches are available through federal programs in the schools for those who qualify. The criteria and applications for these programs are available online at the GCSC website (www.greencastle.k12.in.us). Families who have received direct certification forms should bring those materials to registration.

Primary textbook rental fees will be as follows: Kindergarten -- $79; Grade 1 -- $86; Grade 2 -- $78.

Intermediate textbook rental fees will be as follows: Grade 3 -- $85; Grade 4 -- $88; Grade 5 -- 85.

Middle school rental fees vary for advanced math and band students: Grade 6 -- $115.53; Grade 7 -- $122.60; Grade 8 -- $119.76.

High school rental fees depend on courses taken.

School lunch fees will be:

-- $2.20 for grades 1-5

-- $2.30 for grades 6-12

-- Breakfast fees will be $1.20 for grades 1-12

-- Milk prices will be 40 cents.

Any student who is unable to register online may register on Aug. 9 in the Deer Meadow computer lab from noon to 7 p.m.
