GIVE ME A C-O-U-G-A-R-S

At the 2011 Putnam County Fair Cheerleading Contest, North Putnam finished third on the night and was honored as the county's top finisher in the contest. Senior Morgan Christy (right) gets a hug from classmate and fair queen first runner-up Cara Stanley after being named the 2011 Top Putnam County Senior Cheerleader. Members of the North Putnam cheerleading squad include Christy, Jordan Strow, Jenna Holtze, Caroline Byrd, Ashlyn Clark, Halsey Foltz, Audrey Healey, Autumn McClellan, Haley Thompson, Caitlin Abdon, Adria Bracken, Darion Polly, Jenny Upleger, Andi Foltz, Tatum Straziscar and Kayla Moore. The Cougars are coached by Ashley Moeller. The Spirit Award went to a raucous Greencastle cheer block ancored by members of the Tiger Cub football squad. The Tiger Cubs also came away with a first place finish in the freshman division.
