A Putnam County man has been sentenced to 60 years for molesting two young girls in Putnam County.

Brian Beaty, 47, Fillmore, was sentenced to a 60-year term with 40 years executed for molesting two girls who were under the age of 14.

"Mr. Beaty pled guilty to the two most serious charges," Putnam County Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter said.

"He received a 30-year sentence for each girl, with those sentenced to run consecutively. He will be put on lifetime GPS monitoring when he is released from prison."

Beaty was arrested by Indiana State Police detectives on Feb. 18 after officers were contacted by representatives of the Indiana Department of Child Services.

He was charged with 11 felony counts. Those were two counts of child molesting, Class A felony; five counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, Class B felony; two counts of child molesting, Class C felony; and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, Class C felony.

According to the ISP, the acts of molestation occurred on various occasions over three years at Beaty's home in Fillmore.

During that time, he was alleged to have performed various sexual acts on the teenagers as well as having them perform various sexual acts on him.

Both of the girls now live outside Putnam County.

"The two victims were courageous young girls for coming forward and being willing to testify," Bookwalter said.

Beaty's wife Genny Beaty, 37, was also arrested in relation to the case and charged with two counts of neglect of a dependent and one count of false reporting.

Genny Beaty's pre-trial conference is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 in Putnam Circuit Court.

  • While I am glad he has been sentenced I say give him life, and as for the woman in the case send her away forever too. Both very sick individuals.

  • Good, lock him away; maybe he can share a cell with Fred Legrand who has plead guilty and has his sentencing coming up Aug 18.

  • Considering his age, it is basically a life sentence. Which, he most certainly deserves.
