City Police

A 42-year-old Coatesville woman was arrested early Friday on warrants from both Putnam and Hendricks counties, Greencastle City Police reported.

Melissa Ann York was arrested on Indianapolis Road at 12:30 a.m. Friday, police said. She was taken into custody on Hendricks County warrants for possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear in court, as well as a Putnam County warrant to revoke probation on an original charge of being an operator never license.

York was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

In another case, Capt. Charles Inman made a traffic stop at 10:48 pm. Wednesday in the 700 block of North Jackson Street that resulted in a citation for Edward Willis, 40, Greencastle.

Willis was cited for possession of marijuana-related paraphernalia.

A two-vehicle property-damage accident was reported at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday at Cemetery Road and Veterans Memorial Highway.

Anne Cummings, 45, St. Louis, was southbound on Cemetery Road and stopped her 2006 Toyota Rav-4 to turn left onto Veterans Highway. However, she did not see a westbound 2004 GMC Yukon, driven by Jeremiah Hubble, 33, Greencastle, and turned into its path.

Officer Albert Epple estimated total damage at $1,000-$2,500.

Five recent traffic citations were issued by GPD officers.

-- At 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Aaron Potter, 29, Greencastle, was cited on Indianapolis Road by Capt. Inman for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

-- At 2:52 a.m. Thursday, Anthony Lehr, 20, Greencastle, was stopped on Bloomington Street by Officer Nick Eastham for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone and for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

-- At 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aaron Hedrick, 41, Roachdale, was ticketed on Veterans Highway by Capt. Inman for an expired plate.

-- At 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, Randy Parrish, 47, Greencastle, was ticketed on Indianapolis Road by Capt. Inman for an improper license plate display.
