Ivy Tech Foundation awards $101,000 in scholarships for 2011

Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley held two scholarship receptions, one at 915 South Zinc Mill Rd. in Greencastle and the other in Terre Haute, to announce the winners of more than $101,000 in scholarships.

More than 100 students received scholarship awards from the Ivy Tech Foundation at the two campuses.

Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley has more than 50 scholarship donors, which includes individuals and businesses. Their scholarships are distributed in fall, spring and summer and range from $250 a year to more than $3,000 a year.

Some scholarships are designated for specific degree programs while others ask only that students be in any degree program at Ivy Tech. Scholarship recipients are selected by a scholarship committee comprised of faculty and administrative staff at Ivy Tech.

Fall 2011 classes begin on Aug. 22. Spring scholarship applications are due Oct. 15. Interested students may view the online application and scholarship descriptions and criteria at www.ivytech.edu/wabashvalley under Scholarships.
