The Greencastle girls' golf team placed third in the tri-meet Thursday at home. Danville placed first with a 167, South Putnam second a 203 and Greencastle was third with a 215.

Liz Johnson led the way with a 48, with Jessie Bennett with a 52. Kenzie St. Marie shot a 56 and Lauren Bridgewater shot a 59.

"Katie (Hedge) was out with a pulled muscle," GHS head coach Brad Kingma said. "We hope to have her back for the match on Monday. Liz broke 50 and Lauren 60 for the first time, so there's some positive for the future. Jessie and Kenzie have shown the ability to bounce back from bad matches before, so hopefully that will happen on Monday."

Caitlyn Boyce led South Putnam with a 45, with Madison Cash adding a 50 and Kyndra Boyce a 52. Jessie McKean shot a 57 for the Eagles, while Sarah Woodworth shot a 56, Kaitlyn Stanton shot a 63 and Clair Perry shot a 68.

"That was Caitlyn's best round of the year and that was great," South Putnam head coach Brian McClure said.
