Clovers fall to conference foe Cascade in five sets

CLAYTON -- The Cloverdale volleyball team dropped its conference opener to Cascade in five sets. The Clovers lost 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 28-25 and 6-15.

Bradanne Toney led CHS iwth 13 kills, with Adrianna Patterson adding six kills and Mairah Oetken had four. Paige Gruener and Taylor Jones had two kills each and Lindsay Robson and Katie Kays had one each.

Bristy Skiles had 23 assists, with Toney adding two. Toney also had six blocks, ehile Oetken added two. Robson and Toney had six digs, with Rebekah Jordan adding five, Skiles four and Gruener two. Jones and Patterson had one each.

We knew that it was going to be a battle going into this match," Cloverdale head coach Kathy Moore said. "We lost to them last year and they went on to win the conference while we came in second. We came out like gang busters and played our first two match without many errors at all. That changed in the third match and we ended up losing. It was a tough loss but I think we learned some things about ourselves and we will build from that."
