Living a healthy life with chronic conditions workshop at Autumn Glen

Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled is offering a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions workshop for adults with chronic health conditions or those living with or caring for people with chronic conditions.

The workshop is designed for persons who live with arthritis, diabetes, asthma, COPD, emphysema, heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, pain, fatigue or any other ongoing health condition that impacts daily life and emotions.

Workshop sessions will include appropriate medication use; fitness and exercise; relaxation techniques; dealing with negative emotions, managing symptoms; eating well; setting weekly goals; and effective problem solving,

Area 7 staff members Patty Cannoy and Michelle Graham or Gloria Wetnight will co-lead the workshop, which will take place at Autumn Glen Senior Communities, 98 N. 10th St., Greencastle, on Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be provided.

The sessions will be held Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and Oct. 6. Every participant must attend the first session.

There is no charge to participate. Pre-registration is required by Aug. 30. Each participant will receive a free book and relaxation CD.
