Remembering 9/11

Yes 9/11 did effect me personally, I am not going into details but I was in 10th grade in the spanish room taking istep. I was in on the Science portion of the test question # 8 when I found out. I will never forget. God Bless All...I will always mark 9/11 every year... Kenneth Greencastle/Martinsville....

9-11 always make me think of how the higher powers can improve on foreign policy We can show more than any hate (threw love) and any retaliation against any threat (threw giving to all). Jesus always turned the other cheek and never showed an oz. of fear and knew right would prevail. No force no harm to innocents. Even when the most evil is done to us we rely on our faith that we are right and violence is wrong. We need to end this I miss my wife. She has been away almost a year.

I will forever remember where I was, what I was doing, when I heard the horrible news, I at first thought it was a horrible accident, maybe a small plane had accidentally flew into the towers,then when the 2nd one hit the other towers, I knew we were under attack... thoughts and prayers are with the families of those that were lost on that day..

I had just put my children on the school bus and was headed to a meeting at the PSI building in Greencastle. While driving, it came across the radio that an airplane had just hit the twin towers. At first, I also thought it was an accident but the more I heard, the more concerned I became.

I remember that I was unable to focus on anything other than the twin towers, I wondered all day if my children were safe in school, I actually just wanted to go get them from school and keep them safe with me.

People were flipping out and you couldnt get into a gas station in Greencastle. Gas was suddenly at $5 a gallon.I was unable to make it to a night class in Terre Haute because the lines were so long at the stations.

I will always remember this day, it seems to play like slow motion in my mind.

My thoughts and prayers are also with the families that directly affected by that disaster.

I remember 9/11 very well, day started off normal at work, then received a call over the two-way radio to clear our ramp at the airport. Scrambled my available equipment operators and moved all inert equipment to park behind postal hub and I marshalled 7 passenger aircraft that were ordered down into parking spots on our ramp without being able to talk to the pilots utilizing hand signals and lightsticks until available ramps at the terminal came open. I remember I didn't find out the severity of what was going on until I was finished and the ramp was again cleared. More memorable was the day aircraft were allowed to fly again and the first aircraft went over my ball tournament. All heads on the field and in the stands were at full attention watching airforce jets flying overhead.

I WAS AT WORK AT PUTNAM COUNTY FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES (THE OLD OPERA HOUSE BUILDING) WHEN OUR SUPERVISOR TOLD US WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SHE ALLOWED US TO GO OVER TO SHUEE'S AND WATCH IT IN TELEVISION. WE WERE ALL IN TOTAL DISBELIEF THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN. OUR DIRECTOR, BONNIE COOK, WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND TOLD US IF WE WANTED TO GO HOME THAT IT WAS ALRIGHT WITH HER. WE ALL STAYED AT WORK, BUT OUR MINDS WERE DEFINITELY ON WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT HORRIBLE DAY, AND ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES.

I was on my way to Brazil that morning, and heard about an airplane hitting one of the towers, at first I thought it was an accident, then when the other one hit I knew something horrible was happening.I was in shock, and disbelief,I was glued to my TV for days watching, and felt so sad for all o the people who lost their life, and all of the heroes of that day.. how all American's pulled together and flew their flags, put the flags on their cars, so it saddens me that we seem to have all forgotten about that day.. I personally will never forget that day.. God bless all of the victims and families of that so tragic day..
