Carl Hines will perform at the final Parkfest of the year in Convergence along with Saturday Shoes.

The Summer Concert series Parkfest, sponsored by the Greencastle Civic League, will have its last concert of the year on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Robe-Ann Park bandshell.

This will be a special night hosting two bands previously scheduled to play but both groups were forced to cancel due to inclement weather.

Starting the evening off at 6 p.m. will be Convergence. The Classic Jazz Trio can also been seen at Rick's Boatyard in Indianapolis every Sunday through October. They plan to mix it up for Parkfest with Carl Hines playing the keyboard, Ray Cumberland on the drums, Harry Maginity on bass and vocals, as well as his wife Sue Maginity on vocals.

Continuing the evening around 7 p.m. will be Saturday Shoes. Saturday Shoes is an alternative country cover band from Putnam County.

Playing in the band will be Jeremy Hayes on drums, Dennis Furr on bass guitar, Anthony Mullis on guitar and vocals, and Rick Barcus on guitar and vocals.

The Civic League began this event 18 years ago as a thank you to the community for its support to Civic League fundraising events. In the spring, the group does annual flowers sales, as well as, plays a large role in clean city week, and the members of the group work tox-away day at the fairgrounds. The Civic League also sponsors Lights of Love in December, and just hosted its first tennis tournament this past summer.

The community is invited to join Civic League members for an evening of music on Tuesday. Admission is free.
