Dixie donation

Tuesday, September 6, 2011
A check for $500, representing the proceeds of Dixie Chopper's Blue Jean Friday contributions, are donated to the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry volunteers Frances Washburne (left) and Judy Miller by Dixie Chopper representatives Kathy Erwin (center) and Amy Neier of the company's Wellness Committee and Dixie Chopper marketing assistant Beau Battin. Employees at the Fillmore plant made cash donations in return for being able to wear blue jeans to work on Fridays. The Food Pantry welcomes monetary and food donations, director and board president Miller said, noting that demand seldom decreases. In the past week alone, 55 households, covering 158 individuals, needed Food Pantry assistance.
