Head coach Art Dwigans said Romer's performance was "one of our gutsiest performances from a girl or boy this year."

Katie Kessler finished fifth on the night with a time of 14:37 and Lily Spencer was seventh overall with a time of 15:04.

"I was really pleased with the kids effort tonight," Dwigans said. "It was a cool breezy evening but I thought a great night for racing. Our team is coming together closer and gaining experience each time we race."
